Volunteer at Hermitage Richmond
Hermitage Richmond is a warm and friendly community full of volunteer opportunities for all people. The official volunteer program was organized by Mrs. Lav Henry in 1981, however individuals began volunteering as early as 1978.
We currently have close to 100 volunteers, who range in age from 14 to 97 years old! We have some individuals who have been volunteering since the 1980’s. Hermitage Richmond has students from local colleges and schools, as well as many residents who share their time and talents. The benefits of volunteering are many and we offer flexible schedules.
Here are a few of the volunteer opportunities available:
- Gift shop attendant
- Bingo assistant
- Pokeno assistant
- Chorus escort
- Substitute shopper
- Chapel escort
- Wood shop worker
- Friendly visitor
- Holiday decorator
- Hidden Treasures store worker

The Hermitage Guild of Pinnacle Living was organized in 1950 to communicate the mission of Pinnacle Living to the Virginia Conference United Methodist churches. The Guild emphasizes service to residents, assists with interpretation and promotion of the Samaritan Program, and builds relationships with local faith communities and civic groups for volunteerism and mission outreach.
The Guild runs a monthly “store”, Hidden Treasures, to raise funds for our mission.
