about us

Welcome Home

Hermitage Richmond welcomes you to a long tradition of gracious retirement living, where you’ll find a commitment to you in every detail. It’s a relaxed, close-knit culture with just about everything you could want and need to enjoy life your way. It is why people love living here.

Hermitage Richmond is nestled in the historic Ginter Park neighborhood, a 19th-century retreat where electric cable cars once connected to downtown Richmond. The original stately mansion at the core of our beautiful campus was built in 1911 as a wedding present from John Stuart Bryant to his new bride, Winifred Duffy Hoden.

Today, Ginter Park features the best of urban and suburban living, with local restaurants and shops just a short distance away. Broad boulevards with landscaped medians and a lush canopy contribute to the neighborhood’s park-like setting surrounding our senior living community.

We’re also a premier not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) that does not require an entrance fee. Our rates are affordable and based on the level of support most appropriate for you.

All our residents enjoy each day without the burdens of homeownership, like daily chores, yard work, maintenance and bills to pay.

You’ll have peace of mind knowing that if your needs ever change, a continuum of high-quality health services is here for you on our welcoming campus. You and the ones you love will have answers instead of challenging questions regarding your retirement years.

It’s what makes Hermitage Richmond one of the best retirement communities in Virginia.

Pinnacle Living—Enriching Life’s Journey

Since 1948, Pinnacle Living has grown from a single community serving seniors to four retirement communities across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Throughout our history, we’ve continued to evolve, updating programs and services to meet the needs of those we serve.

As a not-for-profit, faith-inspired organization, Pinnacle Living exists to better lives, not to generate better profits for shareholders. The Wesleyan spirit inspires our team members, volunteers, board and leadership to serve the world’s needs. We’re proud of our heritage as a mission-driven organization that welcomes people of all faiths.
