Many people struggle with when, whether, or how to consider a move. Perhaps your home has become a chore, burden, and responsibility that takes time away from spending your retirement years with the ones you love or doing what you love. Your desire to stay in control is empowered through your partnership with Hermitage Richmond!
Hermitage Richmond’s person-centered approach recognizes, respects and honors that we are all individuals. You decide what and when you want to eat; sleep in, get up early or take a nap when you want. It sounds normal and unworthy of mention but it is unique to Hermitage Richmond. Our mission is to adapt our team and community to your routine and to provide a plan for you and the one you love should things change.
Our residents share that they love living in a community because all of the maintenance, inside and out, is taken care of. Transportation to arts, social, sporting events as well as the doctor, grocery, and other errands are a wonderful way to simplify life and enjoy socializing while maintaining control and independence.
As a not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community, Hermitage Richmond offers all levels of living short of an acute care hospital setting. If life changes, residents can arrange for services in their residences or can move to a special level of living for memory or nursing support. The key point many residents share is that they are making their own decisions and choices.
Many people wonder if they can afford to live in a community like Hermitage Richmond. Often the easiest comparison is to quantify the costs of a home, not just the bills, taxes and insurance but the ongoing maintenance and trapped equity in that old house. Hermitage Richmond does not have an Entrance Fee like most other continuing care retirement communities which makes it much more affordable. And we make sure that you can afford living here by conducting a thorough financial and actuarial review.
Most of your other alternatives will not invest the time and effort to be sure you can afford to comfortably live in their community. Hermitage Richmond is part of Pinnacle Living, a not-for-profit organization, and our lifelong relationship with our residents means something to us. We make a commitment to provide assistance to those who, through no fault of their own, become unable to fully meet the financial responsibilities of their residence or care through the Samaritan Program. As with any relationship this one is based on reciprocity — by reviewing your financial and actuarial projections we can be sure that your plan to call Hermitage Richmond home is the right one.

I just want to say how much I appreciate the over-the-top care the staff in McGuire Park have given my mother, over the years since she’s been there. She has received good care from the other staff at the Hermitage as well, for which we are very appreciative, but the folks at McGuire Park
